missing someone, or something. maybe a place
the memento pendant is inspired by the nostalgic hollow place left behind every time a dear, cherished moment dissolves away.
manipulated by controlled heat, the sunken center of the pendant was formed by pressing a sea snail shell deep into the melting silver, leaving an imprint soothing to the fingertips.
“Seeing photographs of the early hand-marks left on the cave wall of Maltravieso, Lascaux or Sulavesi, I imagine laying my own palm precisely against the outline left by those unknown makers. I imagine, too, feeling a warm hand pressing through from within the cold rock, meeting mine fingertip to fingertip in open-encounter across time.”
