Carl Franz Koch publishes a collection of 233 hand-drawn saxon symbols from Transylvania.

Dating from medieval times, these emblems were practically used for marking each villages’ livestock and stored sacks of grain.

This manuscript delves into an allegorical investigation of their form and deep history, beyond their concrete meanings, while illuminating new ties and expanding possibilities.
